Our Miracle

Praise God, the cancer is contained to his eye!!! Thank the Lord

Charlie had his MRI today. It’s amazing how God places people in your life. My old high school friend Len Verhey works at TO sick kids and works with the head of Radiology. This Doctor made sure an extra scan was done, pretty much the best you can get. Len also met us for coffee while the MRI was being done and let us pick his brain. (Thank you so much doctor V)
We were called on the way home by Charlie’s doctor and given the news that the cancer is COMPLETELY contained in the eye. She was SO excited for us. It felt like she was surprised. So yes, he will lose his eye on the 28th, but we are not thinking about losing our son tonight!!! Praising God for answered prayer.  Charlie still has quite a bit to go through this month. But right now, we are so happy. Thank you everyone for your prayers. God answered them in the way we were praying He would.

  3. Hooray! I am so happy that everything has gone so quickly so you haven't had to live through too much guessing. And this is WONDERFUL news! I will keep your family in my prayers, especially in the next few weeks. Thanks for the update!

  4. We are so thankful to the Lord for answering prayers so quickly and allowing the cancer to be contained in just the eye. We pray that Charlie will truly come to see the Light of Jesus, despite a physically blind eye! Christ is the great Physician and He also commanded the little children to come to Him, and may we never forbid them - for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Katie, thank you for your openness in sharing. It really allows us to pray in specific ways for you all. I pray that the Lord will give you and Adrian an extra measure of grace and may He make you both bold witnesses of God's grace. With love, Klaske

  5. Oh Katie we are so thankful with you. I was told on Monday night about Charlie and just felt sick about it all. So glad things went quickly and the Lord placed people for you to get quick results and questions dealt with. What a blessing. May God contiue to uphold you all and bless the work of the doctors. With love from The Hannaford's.

  13. oh thank you dear God!Our children are so precious to us, and Gods children are precious to Him. Although we don't always understand how He works we must give thanks for how trials pull us closer to Him. I will continue to pray for you all! Be strong in your Heavenly Father.

  14. The Lord provides. "Trust in Him at all times, you people, pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us." (Ps. 62:8).

  15. Thanking and praising God with you this day. It is absolutely amazing to me that our God is not only so awesome that He hears our prayers, but He also works such a deep thankfulness in our hearts that we are praising Him on a day that we find out that this little man will definitely be losing an eye. Several weeks ago this would have horrified everyone, yet with His strength, we are rejoicing that it is not worse. Much strength to you all.

  16. Wanted to thank you so much for blogging about this Katie. I tried "praising God" with you in a comment when you first posted this, but my phone wasn't cooperating, so now I am writing on my computer. :) We are so relieved for you and happy that things have been going so well. May God continue to use this time to draw you as a family nearer to Him. We will continue to pray that Charlie will be kept in God's Hand - safe and loved. I love the Bible passage you picked (Psalm 91). What a comfort! God bless you all. Hugs and love.
